However, the power of music – sound and impressions depend not only of performer’s virtuosity, but also of the instrument quality itself. As well as the sound of Stradivarius violins is the best in the world,handmaderubabs have been done by a master with heart and soul “sing” more softer and colorful , then cheap factory product. Fortunately there are still people in Badakhshan, who abide by tradition way of creating musical instruments. One of these master is ustod Massayn from Andarob village. “Ishkashim voluntary school” in the public organization “GuluGiyoh” considers as it’s debt to preserve the heritage of master. Training sessions are held several times. And journeymen learn the subtleties and tricks of creating rubabs – instruments which can open the soul of one individual to another.
2. Creation rubob with the inscription “Allah.”
This tool is made of apricot wood, because it is the most durable. First of all it is necessary to make the raw material flexible and ready for processing. To do this, beam of apricot tree should lie in the water for at least one month. After, the beam should be purified from the bark. Then the outline for the future instrument have to be drawn by pencil. Next step is cuting outlines with not power tools. Once the workpiece is ready, wood sanded and coated with oil, for not cracked. The next stage the cow’s skin is glued for the instrument. After 3-4 days if the cow’s skin bury in the white clay it becomes clean from the cow hair. Lo and behold, the skin remains only cut into pieces for necessary size and paste to the drum instrument. Other two days the glue dryed. Then it needs only to pull the strings and tune the instrument.
